Constant-adiabaticity ultralow magnetic field manipulations of parahydrogen-induced polarization: application to an AA'X spin system

چکیده
Magnetic field sweeps are used to transfer parahydrogen-induced polarization from hydrogen atoms onto heteronuclear spins such as carbon-13. In this work we describe and implement constant adiabaticity sweep profiles for purpose.

Parahydrogen-induced polarization at zero magnetic field.
We use symmetry arguments and simple model systems to describe the conversion of the singlet state of parahydrogen into an oscillating sample magnetization at zero magnetic field. During an initial period of free evolution governed by the scalar-coupling Hamiltonian HJ, the singlet state is converted into scalar spin order involving spins throughout the molecule. A short dc pulse along the z ax...
متن کاملTransfer of Parahydrogen-Induced Polarization to 19F:
Introduction Parahydrogen-Induced Polarization (PHIP) leads to strong signal enhancement in H-NMR if unsaturated substrates are hydrogenated with parahydrogen (p-H2) applying an appropriate catalyst. As shown before, this polarization can be transferred to heteronuclei such as C. For imaging the lung, a F-hyperpolarized contrast agent should be available, if possible for inhalation. Normally, t...
متن کاملMagnetic Field Induced Spin Polarization of AlAs Two-dimensional Electrons
Two-dimensional (2D) electrons in an in-plane magnetic field become fully spin polarized above a field BP , which we can determine from the in-plane magnetoresistance. We perform such measurements in modulation-doped AlAs electron systems, and find that the field BP increases approximately linearly with 2D electron density. These results imply that the product |g∗|m∗, where g∗ is the effective ...
متن کاملAnalysis of parahydrogen polarized spin system in low magnetic fields.
Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectra of spin systems polarized either thermally or by parahydrogen exhibit strikingly different field dependencies. Thermally polarized spin systems show the well-known roof effect, observed when reducing magnetic field strengths which precludes the independent determination of chemical shift differences and J-coupling constants at low-fields. Quantum mechani...
متن کاملSpin polarization and dichroism effects induced by an electric field
We show that electric field can induce spin polarization and dichroism effects in angle resolved photoemission spectroscopy ARPES in spin orbit coupling systems. The physical origin behind the effects essentially is the same as the intrinsic spin Hall effect induced by the electric field. Since the ARPES experiments have both energy and momentum resolutions, the origin of the intrinsic spin Hal...
